WHO WE ARE

WORCESTER’S YOUTH FOOTBALL CLUB

Oldbury Park Tigers FC is a community football club for St John’s, Worcester and our surrounding villages. We have been running our football club since 2001 for young players. Oldbury Park Tigers FC is a non-profit making, community football club. We run Mini and Youth Soccer Teams in Worcester.

Our development club offers coaching and team football for girls and boys from ages 4 to 16. This is run by FA level 2 qualified coaches who also hold a current FA-enhanced DBS check.

OPTFC is Worcester’s first choice for football coaching and holds several awards including the Midlands Charter Development Club 2014/15.

We want to get young people to play football and have fun in a safe environment. In our coaching sessions, young people learn key skills they can use later in life. Football is not just about the sport, it is also about the team. Making friends and building bonds can be done alongside learning technical skills and techniques.

At Oldbury Park Tigers FC, we are always welcoming new players. If you are interested in playing football with us, join the Tigers! You can find us at Oldbury Park Primary School. It is on the west side of Worcester city in the St John’s area.

OUR HISTORY

How did we get our name? Of course, the Oldbury Park part came from where we are based. We are ‘Tigers’ because it is what our first group of children wanted to be. It has stayed with us since!

Since we began in 2001 we have grown to nine teams and over 120 players playing league football. It started off with just a few parents wanting to give our children a fun, safe space to play football. We also have an open development play centre every Sunday apart from bank holidays. As well as our coaching and teams, we run School Club Links with Oldbury Park Primary School and Christopher Whitehead Language College. This is supported by the Worcestershire Football Association (WFA).

Not only do we like to see new faces at our development centre, but we are also always looking for new schools to link with. If you’re interested, you can contact Liz Elston at secretary@optfc.co.uk for more details.
